KARACHI: PIA flights to ferry 91,685 Haj pilgrims


KARACHI, Jan 15: PIA will operate a total of 238 flights to ferry 91,685 Haj pilgrims to Saudi Arabia from Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.

The first flight will leave Islamabad on Wednesday, carrying 472 pilgrims on board. PIA’s pre-Haj operation will take one month to complete on Feb 16.

Haj flights from all other stations including Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta will start from January 17. PIA has pressed Boeing 747 and Airbus-300 into Haj service.

The Civil Aviation Authority has made all arrangements to facilitate the pilgrims at the terminal. According to PIA, the post-Haj operation will begin from February 28 and will take one month to complete.—APP
