SPI falls


ISLAMABAD, Jan 15: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended on January 10 has registered a decrease of 0.05 per cent over the previous week.

The SPI for the week under review was recorded at 103.19 as against 103.24 recorded in the previous week, showing a decline in the prices of essential kitchen items, according to the Federal Bureau of Statistics.

During the week under review average prices of 11 items registered decrease, nine items prices increased, while those of 31 items prices remained unchanged.

The items registered decrease in their prices included tomatoes, chicken farm, potatoes, onions, gur, red chillies (powdered), mash pulse, masoor pulse, bananas, mustard oil and gram pulse.

The items registered increase in prices included eggs, garlic, moong pulse, wheat, cooking oil (Habib), vegetable ghee (tin), firewood, vegetable ghee (loose) and rice basmati (broken).—APP
