Baku backs Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, Jan 13: The leading parliamentarians of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, hailing from different parties, have supported Pakistani stand against terrorism and criticized Indian army build-up and occupation of held Kashmir.

In a joint statement the parliamentarians expressing grave concern over the tension between India and Pakistan which heightened particularly after the attack on Indian parliament, said Indian attempts to blame Pakistan for this incident was completely groundless.

The parliamentarians viewed that it was unbelievable that Pakistan could promote terrorism as it has been very active in the US led anti-terrorism drive.

They said Indian policy was against the internal legal norms. They declared their support to Pakistan which always extended political support to their country and recognized its sovereignty.

They said Pakistan was facing a situation similar to that of Azerbaijan and added that “we consider all claims made by India against this friendly country as baseless.”—APP
