Kitchen employees’ health bill sought

LAHORE, Jan 13: The district city government has sought a clean bill of health of the kitchen employees of posh hotels and restaurants.

The food security officer has issued notices to the managements to produce within a month the certificates from the Services Hospital showing they are not infected by communicable diseases like tuberculosis and brucelossis.

According to the notices despatched to over a dozen big hotels and restaurants, the medical examination of the kitchen employees was necessary in view of the discovery of the patients of communicable diseases among them during a recent survey carried out by the District City Government.

The diseases could be transmitted to the hotel guests as a result of the handling of foodstuffs by such employees.
