LAHORE: Lahore Dist Council meeting

LAHORE, Jan 12: District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood has summoned an extraordinary meeting of the Lahore District Council at the Jinnah Hall on Monday (tomorrow)) to discuss the civil defence arrangements for the city.

The district nazim is also the ex-officio chief warden of the Lahore Civil Defence Organization. He has visited the border areas of the district twice during the past six days and announced recruitment and training of 34,000 civil defence volunteers on a war footing besides announcing a provision of Rs5 million by the District City Government for meeting the immediate financial requirements for the civil defence.
