KARACHI: Board set up for recruitment in police


KARACHI, Jan 12: The Sindh government has constituted an eight-member board, under the chairmanship of DIG Mohammed Yamin Khan, for recruitment of 1,650 policemen.

Other members of the board are the AIG Establishment, Principal PTS Shahdadpur, Principal PTC Saeedabad, district SSPs concerned, a member of the Army Monitoring Team, the district Nazim and a psychologist.

According to DIG Yamin Khan, the purpose of constituting the board is to make the recruitment process transparent and to appoint candidates on merit.

He said the date and time for the recruitment procedure, which include a physical test, written test and interview, had already been made public through the media.

He said they had received about 16,000 applications from Karachi alone.—PPI
