KARACHI, Jan 11: A man committed suicide in his house in North Karachi on Friday.
Maudood Alam, aged 56, took a heavy dose of insecticide. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where he died.
Police quoting family sources said the Alam had had a history of mental sickness and had tried to commit suicide several times.
KILLED: A minor boy was tortured to death by unknown assailants in Khawja Ajmair Nagri on Friday.
Naeem, 4, was criminally assaulted and tortured to death. His body was found from a desolated place in Shahnawaz Bhutto Colony.
The body was sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Meanwhile, an ex-armyman was killed by unknown assailants.
Police said the throat of Shakil Faraz, 26, had been slit and his body had been found from the bushes in Saeedabad.
Faraz, who belonged to Chakwal, was discharged from the army service in 1998. His body was sent to the Edhi morgue.
BODY FOUND: The body of an unknown middle-aged man was found in Shar Shah on Friday.
The body was 2-3 days old and was found in a gunny bag. According to police, marks of a rope round the neck of the man indicate that he was hanged to death.
The body was sent to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for autopsy and later it was sent to the Edhi morgue for identification.
