Asmat excels with bat

KARACHI, Jan 10: A fighting unbeaten 106 by Asmatullah gave Rest of NWFP an outside chance of victory against Peshawar on the third day of the Quaid Trophy fixture at Arbab Niaz Stadium Thursday.

According to details available from Peshawar, the home team were 45 for one after being set a target of 225.

Rest of NWFP added 76 to their overnight 155 for six with Asmatullah adding 52 to his Wednesday’s tally of 54.

Test speedster Fazle Akbar claimed four for 71 to take his match haul to nine for 102.
