LAKKI MARWAT, Jan 10: Allout efforts will be made to make the district government system a success and no one will be allowed to put obstacles to the smooth and successful running of the system.
This was stated by Union Council Nazim Mohammad Yasin Khattak while talking to journalists here on Wednesday.
He strongly denied a news item published in a section of the press alleging that the local government had started political victimization.
He termed the news an act of mischief on the part of vested interests who he said wanted to destabilize and discredit the local government of the Lakki Marwat area, saying it was an attempt to sow disunity among the members of the union council.
He said District Nazim Humayun Saifullah had discussed all developmental projects with all Nazims concerned and then approved it to bring all backward areas on a par with the developed areas of the district.
He reposed full confidence in the District Nazim, DCO Saifullah Khan, EDO Education Nasrullah Khan and all other district government officers and said all of them had been trying their best to resolve the public grievances at the earliest.
PROSTITUTES HELD: The police arrested seven alleged prostitutes in the vicinity of Mohallah Michan Khel on Wednesday night.
According to a press release issued by SP Abdullah Khan, on the requests of the citizens of Lakki Marwat to eliminate brothels and dens, the Lakki Marwat police took the drastic step.
SHO Amanullah and ASI Syed Shabir Shah, along with other police staff, raided early the dens situated in Mohallah Michan Khel early in the morning and arrested seven alleged prostitutes and booked them under sections 107/151 CrPC and 3,4 and 5 of the Suppression of Prostitutes Ordinance.
