Israel offers to help India fight ‘terrorism’

NEW DELHI, Jan 10: Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres offered India more “constructive cooperation “ to tackle global terrorism on Thursday.

Addressing the partnership summit organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry in the southern city of Bangalore, Peres told reporters there has to be three-pronged cooperation at political, technical and economic levels to tackle terrorism.

He said the fight against terrorism requires advanced technology, systems and material. The United States and Israel had invested heavily in these areas, and were developing a new system to face the challenges of terrorism.

Peres said terrorism could not be done away with just by force, but had to be tackled by governments with an open mind.—dpa
