Samiullah snatches hat trick

LAHORE, Jan 9: A five goals tally by Samiullah, including a hat trick helped Remounts Maroons to beat Master Paints 5-3 1/2 in the Venture Cup polo tournament at the Lahore Polo Club ground on Wednesday.

Another five  goals scored by Col. Isfandar  Yar  Pataudi enabled  Sunday TV to give Sherwood a shocking 12-7  defeat.  

For Sherwood Abdur Rahman scored all the five goals with two on handicap.

Samiullah registered a hat trick in the third chukker, crowning three field efforts.

Master Paints who were playing with a half goal  on  the handicap reduced the margin through Maula Bakhsh, Hamid and Sufi Muhammad Haris who scored one goal each.

Remounts Maroons: Sufi Muhammad Amir (0), Manzoor  Shah (1), Samiullah (3), Khurshid (4).

Master Paints: Mir Shoaib Ahmad (0), Sufi Muhammad Haris (1), Hamid (4), Maula Buksh (2).

For the winners Col Pataudi was the main source  of the win. Arsalan Najeeb also scored three goals  while Malik Atif Yar Tiwana and Faiz Rahim added two goals each.

Sunday  TV:  Arsalan Najeeb (2), Faaiz  Rahim  Khan  (1), Malik Atif Yar Tiwana (3), Col Isfand Yar Pataudi (2).

Sherwood: Mian Shehzad Aziz (0), Malik Azam Hayat (1), Malik Asad Hayat (2), Abdul Rehman (2).
