PAF shock Army


KARACHI, Jan 8: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) came from behind to pull off a major shock on the second day of Inter Services football championship when they defeated favorites Pak Army 2-1 at Navy Sports Complex Ground Karsaz Tuesday.

Fazal Rehman and Tasneem notched-up goal for winners while Ehsanullah replied for Army.

Airmen produced an inspired performance against former national champion Army to carved out an impressive win.

Army which dominated the first half, started on a solid footing as Ehsanullah put his team infront after collecting a rebound PAF custodian Zahid Hussain in 8th minute. Army maintained their slender one goal lead by half time.

PAF showed better understanding and cohesion in the second period and in 59th minute stopper Fazal-ur-Rehman draw level 1-1 with a header after connecting a fine pass from Pervez.

Tasneem produced the match winner in 71st minutes after securing a fine pass from Tahir.

Army will take on Navy Wednesday at 2.30 P.M.—APP
