Cases against two NGOs

MANSEHRA,  Jan 8: The anti-corruption police  have registered criminal cases against the staff of two NGOs over their alleged misappropriation of funds of development schemes in the Mansehra district.

Two separate FIRs were lodged against the officials of Sarhad Rural Support Corporation and Mansehra Village Support Programme over the alleged embezzlement in the development funds, police sources told Dawn on Tuesday.

One of the complaints was regarding water supply scheme of Budden (Oghi tehsil), which was to cost Rs 250,000, but was left incomplete.

In another report land levelling scheme in the Haree Sharolian village, MVSP officials misappropriated around Rs 350,000, the sources said, adding that the anti-corruption police lodged two cases.
