MIRPURKHAS, Jan 8: Nawab Mohammad Yousuf Talpur, a central leader of the Pakistan People’s Party, has urged the government to stop ‘personal vendetta’ against the PPP before it was too late, says a press release issued here on Tuesday.

He said the campaign against the party chairperson, Benazir Bhutto, be brought to an end.

He said the people of Pakistan were astonished that the country had been pushed into the war-like situation, the enemy forces were knocking at the country’s door but the government was running a personal vendetta against the PPP.

He said the government shouldn’t repeat the mistake committed by its predecessors in 1971 as fears among the masses were rising with every passing day.

He asked the government to hold general elections immediately under a neutral and independent election commission and hand over the power to the elected representatives.
