KARACHI: Allotment of plots to KPC members demanded

KARACHI, Jan 8: The governing body of Karachi Press Club (KPC), which met on Tuesday with its president, Khurshid Tanvir, in the chair, expressed concern that the issue pertaining to allotment of residential plots to KPC members at the Hawkesbay has not been resolved as yet.

It urged the authorities to take necessary steps to ensure that the plots are allotted to the KPC members as they have already paid half of the instalments.

The meeting criticized the impediments that are being created through bureaucratic hurdles in the resolution of the problem.

It was pointed out that the plots had been allotted in 1996 and the three successive provincial governments had pledged to honour the commitment.

As such, the KPC governing body stressed, the present Sindh government should also honour the commitment and allot the plots to the members of the KPC.—APP
