PESHAWAR, Jan 7: Maulana Aziz Ahmad Gharwal, chief of the Tanzim Nifaz Shariat-i-Mohammadi (TNSM), Bajaur Agency, who was killed in US bombardment in the Paktia province of Afghanistan a few days back, will be buried in his ancestral graveyard on Tuesday.
The body of Maulana Gharwal was brought from Khost to his native village, Seway, on Monday amid resentment in the area.
A large number of TNSM activists visited his residence to pay homage to their leader. His funeral prayer will be offered at 10am.
The TNSM leader and a number of other people were killed when US warplanes bombed a village in Paktia a few days back. Taliban intelligence chief Qari Ahmadullah also died in the attack.
Maulana Gharwal with thousands of TNSM activists from the Bajaur Agency and the Malakand division entered Afghanistan a couple of months ago to back the Taliban regime against the US ground forces.
