KARACHI, Jan 5: Rest of Balochistan (RoB) forced an honorable draw in their Quaid-i-Azam Cricket Trophy match against Rest of Sindh (RoS) at National Stadium Saturday, thanks to an attacking 65 by Naseer Khan.
Naseer added 95 runs for the seventh wicket with Mohtashim Rasheed (37) to ensure a draw.
RoB made 270 in their first innings and were 265 for the loss of nine wickets in their second innings when match called off early. RoS made 376 in their first innings.
RoB, who resumed at 65 for three wicket this morning, slumped to 146 for six wicket with left-arm spinner Rizwan Qureshi taking two crucial wickets.
Mohtashim Ali was caught by Shahid Qambrani for 43 laced with five boundaries while Azizullah was bowled by Rizwan for exactly 50 after batting for 234 minutes and after facing 169 balls. His innings contained five boundaries.
RoS captain Hanif-ur-Rehman got rid of Sabir Hussain for 15 to make it 146-6. But Naseer Khan and Mohtashim batted with responsibility. Naseer Khan struck 14 boundaries off just 91 balls in 102 minutes to play main part in ensuring a draw.
Mohtashim Ali had six hits to the boundary in his fighting 37.
Rizwan Qureshi ended with haul of five wickets for 58 runs.
