KARACHI, Jan 4: Reckless driving claimed two lives in the city on Friday and Thursday night.

An unidentified man was run over by a passenger coach on the main road in Bilal Town, New Karachi.

The coach driver sped away after the accident, the police said. The man died on the spot. The body was sent to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.

A young man died in a road accident in Liaquatabad on late Thursday night.

The police said that Mohammed Ashraf, aged 45, was on his way home when an unknown vehicle knocked him down and escaped. Ashraf was rushed to Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

A young man was crushed to death beneath the wheels of a train on the railway tracks near Drigh Road railway station on late Thursday night, the police said. The young man probably committed suicide by throwing himself in front of a railway engine.

The body was sent to the Jinnah Post-graduate Medical College (JPMC) for post-mortem, the police added.
