KARACHI: Sewage overflows in Gulshan

KARACHI Jan 4: Numerous areas of Gulshan-I-Iqbal Town are submerged in over-flowing sewage due to lack of coordination between the elected representatives and the staff of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board.

As much as four lanes and a main road, between Blocks 13-D and 13-G, have been flooded with sewage water for the last more than a week despite complaints lodged by the residents with the respective union council offices.

Similarly, sewage has been overflowing from gutters in UC-11 and Block-2 of Metroville-3 areas.

Continuous sewage flow has also turned a number of streets into mud traps for pedestrians and those riding cycles or motorbikes. The residents feared that the stagnant water might pose health hazards for the localities, besides damaging the roads completely.—PPI
