KARACHI: Many areas without water for four days

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 3: Various parts of the city went without water for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday, with water-starved localities either buying private tankers at exorbitant rates or to consuming sub-soil unhygienic water.

The hard-hit areas include Gulshan-i-Iqbal’s blocks 1, 2, 5, 13-A, 13-B, 13-D-1, 13-D-2, 13-D-3, certain parts of PECHS blocks 2 and 6, Clifton’s Block 2, Khokarapar No 2 1/2, Saudia Colony, Lyari’s Dariabad, Phul Patti Lane, Khudadad Colony and parts of North Karachi.

About the affected localities in Gulshan-i-Iqbal, the KWSB officials claimed water to these localities had been released on Thursday evening and all these localities would start getting normal supply from early Friday morning.
