PESHAWAR, Dec 31: The Hizbut Tahrir has said, after cooperating with America against the Taliban, the government was now in a way fighting against its own people by allowing the American military a permanent abode at Jacobabad airport.
A spokesman for the Hizb in a statement on Monday said Muslims must re-establish Khilafat.
He said the so-called war against terrorism is in fact a way of extending American influence in the area.
The latest US campaign had enabled it to perpetuate its domination over Central Asia and South Asia, he added.
He said the Muslim countries were unable to challenge America because they were in many ways slaves of western capitalism.
