LAHORE, Dec 28: Two matches were decided on first day of the Punjab University Inter-collegiate women tennis championship Friday.

Government College, Sheikhupura, struggled to beat the host college 2-1. Sanam Rahman of Kinnaird College gave a good start to her team beating Rozeena Khurshid in the first singles 6-0, 6-0.

Rozeena Khurshid with Nadeem Manzoor, however, restored the parity, by winning the doubles, defeating Sana Rahman-Maheeha pair 6-1, 7-5. In the second singles, Nadeem Manzoor outclassed Maheeha 6-1, 6-1 to enable Government College to complete the win.

The Punjab University teaching department defeated Government College, Gulberg Lahore, 2-0. Nausheen Pervez defeated Ambreen 6-0, 6-0 and Nausheen Pervez paired with Munanza Khatoon to beat Ambreen Masood-Nausheen Hanif 6-0, 6-0.
