DGK tribals deprived of flour subsidy

By Our Correspondent

DERA GHAZI KHAN, Dec 15: The Tribal Areas here, as well as several union councils of Taunsa Sharif tehsil, did not get the subsidized flour under the Punjab government’s Ramazan package.

Under the subsidy scheme 700 20-kilogram bags were allocated per union council for the poor. However, the tribal areas did not benefit from it. The Nazim of the Tribal Area tehsil told Dawn the subsidized bags had not reached the drought-hit area. The Tribal Areas tehsil consists of five union councils. It has a population of about 140,000 and 70,000 registered voters.
