Highwaymen attack bus near Sukkur

SUKKUR, Dec 14: Unidentified bandits opened fire on a Karachi bound passenger bus on the National Highway near Arain bypass, here injuring a woman passenger.

According to report, when a passenger bus (A-9495) coming from Dera Ghazi Khan reached near Arain bypass, unidentified armed dacoits signalled it to stop but the driver sensing danger sped it.

The highwaymen opened indiscriminate fire on the bus which injured a woman passenger.

Sukkur police rushed to the site of incident and surrounded the dacoits.

The dacoits opened fire on the police which was retaliated. The exchange of firing reportedly continued for a short time but the dacoits managed to flee.

FIRE: Fire broke out in a gunny bags godown on Miani Road here on Friday reportedly causing loss of hundreds of thousands of rupees.
