PESHAWAR, Dec 13: A force of 4,000 troops from the Pakistan Army, the Frontier Corps, Khasadar and Levies has plugged all entry points along the Pakistan-Afghan border in the Khyber Agency to stop people from illegally entering Pakistan.
Despite the unfriendly weather and difficult terrain, the army troops are carrying out extensive patrolling to check infiltrators and intruders, who might enter Pakistan illegally from across the border, said a press release, issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) here on Wednesday.
Services of more personnel from the animal transport regiments are also being utilized in the areas, where the movement of vehicles is restricted due to non-availability of roads and tracks.
Meanwhile, army aviation helicopters continued airlifting troops close to the border, besides carrying extensive reconnaissance.
The troops are also supported by elements from the Corps of Engineers and Signals working for the development of communication infrastructure in the tribal belt.
Army medical teams, accompanying the troops, are providing medical facilities to the locals, winning their confidence, goodwill and cooperation.
