All-round performance by Test discard Qaisar Abbas
KARACHI, Dec 12: Test discard Qaisar Abbas excelled as favorites Paragon Constructors crushed Capricorn Discount Card (CDC) by 111 runs to storm into the final of Paragon Cup ramazan cricket tournament at UBL Sports Complex Ground “A” Wednesday.
Paragon Constructors recovered from a shaky start to pile up 220 for five wickets in their quota of 25 overs after they had elected to bat first. CDC, in their turn, were bowled out for 109 in 22.4 overs. Rizwan Qureshi fought the lone battle to finish 49 not out with seven fours.
Left-arm Rizwan Qureshi caused the main damage by snapping up three wickets for 25 runs in five overs.

EASY VICTORY
Malir Gymkhana received a rude shock when they were trounced by Mohammad Hussain Cricket Club by 27 runs in the last league match of the 16th Karachi Gymkhana cricket festival at the Karachi Gymkhana Wednesday.
Mohammad Hussain Cricket Club colletced 164 for five from 20 overs and then restricted a second string Malir Gymkhana to 137 for five.
All the three frontline Mohammad Hussain Cricket Club batsmen made even contributions with Sharjeel Arshraf finishing as the top scorer with 52 that included four fours and two sixes off 39 balls. Opener Zeeshan Tanvir (39) and Azhar Gul (42) also batted well.
For Malir Gymkhana, Rashid Hanif picked up three wickets for 21 and later struck 65 off 55 balls with three fours.

Fancied A.O. Cricket Club advanced to the final of the A.O. Super Cup cricket tournament when they defeated Asghar Ali Shah CC (AASCC) by four wickets at the AAS Stadium Wednesday.

Tariq Haroon and Mansoor Baig played pivotal roles in guiding Pakistan Cricket Club (PCC) in the semifinals of the A.O. floodlight cricket tournament when they overcame A.O.CC Blues by three wickets in a thrilling quarterfinal at Asghar Shah Stadium Tuesday evening.
Batting first, A.O.CC Blues made 139 for eight wickets in 20 overs. Ghulam Ali hit two sixes and a boundary in his 35-ball knock of 47. Irfanullah scored 39 in 36 balls with a solitary four.
Off-spinners Tabish Nawab, Mansoor Baig and pacer Iftikhar shared six wicket between them.
PCC, in reply, reached the winning target on the penultimate ball of 20th over, scoring 140-7. Mansoor Baig made an undefeated 33.
Rizwan Qureshi produced a splendid all-round show to put Bilal Friends in the final of 11th Zamir Khan memorial cricket tournament when the crush City Government by seven wickets in a one-sided semi-final at Al-Mansoora Ground Tuesday.
Rizwan first captured four wickets for 18 runs with his left-arm spinners to dismiss City Government for 133 on the last ball of the 20th over.
Later, he hammered four sixes and three boundaries in his 57 to set-up an easy win as Bilal Friends romped for the loss of just three wickets in 15th over.
