KARACHI Dec 12: After a 1-1 draw Habib Ali Kiddi XI beat Latifur Rehman X1 on the spin of coin to claim the trophy of the 39th YMCA Khursheed Aslam memorial camp trainees hockey league Wednesday at the YMCA ground

Unbeaten Habib Ali Kiddi XI enjoyed an edge over their rivals in an absorbing encounter and forged ahead midway through the first half with a fine goal by centrehalf Syed Ali Mehdi.

Latifur Rehman XI, after resumption, put up better performance and after a few unsuccesfull attempts equalised through Osama Shah

Later, The Habib Ali Kiddi XI earned a penalty stroke but lefthaf Asfand Ali’s attempt struck the crossbar at the fage end of the match.

The fate of the final was decided on the spin of coin and Habib Ali Kiddi XI emerged victors

Centrehalf Osama Shah was the top scorer with eight goals while Abrar Ahmed was adjudged the best goalkeeper of the four- team league. Best defenders were Syed Ali Mehdi and Asfand Ali and all them are the students of the Habib Public School.

All the 48 under-16 trainnes of the camp , who competed in the tournament, were given free hockey sticks.
