By Our Correspondent

SAHIWAL, Dec 12: A widow and her grandson were reported killed at ‘Sehr’ on Wednesday while her granddaughter injured seriously over a land dispute.

Zainab, widow of Muhammad Yaqoob, after the death of her husband leased out 12.5 acres of land to one Bashir Ahmad. Bashir occupied the land and stopped giving rent of the land a decade ago. On it, Zainab moved the court which ejected Bashir two years ago.

Zainab’s eldest son Ibrahim started cultivating the land and shifted his mother, his son Bilal and daughter Sadia along with his brother Hanif to Sahiwal.

Bashir along with two accomplices entered the house after Hanif had gone to the area mosque to say Fajr prayers and attacked Zainab, Bilal and Sadia with knives killing the former two on the spot and injuring the latter. Bilal was a class two student and Sadia a class six.

Sadia was admitted to hospital where her condition was stated to be serious.

Police have registered a case with no arrest.
