4 defaulters freed from lockup

SARGODHA, Dec 11: Four defaulters confined in the tehsil lockup were got released by some armed men here on Tuesday.

Those who escaped are Furqan of Chak 34-SB, Ali Muhammad of 123-AB, Mumtaz of 123-NB and Aurangzeb.

No-one from the revenue department was available to confirm the incident.

CAUGHT: Two dacoits were caught after being injured in an encounter with villagers near Hazoorpur here on Tuesday.

Two armed men snatched a motorcycle from a forest guard, Amir. The guard along with his companions chased the bandits and intercepted them near Bara Pul. Following an exchange of fire, both the dacoits were overpowered with bullet injuries.

The bandits, later identified as Mazhar Iqbal and Riaz, were later handed over to police.
