SRINAGAR, Dec 7: Two Indian army intelligence agents were among five people killed in occupied Kashmir on Friday, police said.

Freedom fighters shot dead the agents at the village of Wanigam, near Patan, 30 kilometres north of Srinagar, police said.

The pair had moved into the village to gather information when the Mujahideen shot them dead at point-blank range.

The fighters snatched their intelligence diaries and fled, police said. The Indian army claimed killing a member of the Lashkar-i-Taiba at Zainapora village, near Shopian township.

The Guerilla approached the camp in the early hours, hurled hand grenades, fired from a semi-automatic rifle and tried to charge the gates when soldiers shot him dead.

Two more Mujahideen were killed elsewhere in the held state, police said. A member of the Indian forces was also injured when Mujahideen attacked a patrol in Kupwara.—AFP
