Concern at police inaction

TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 30: Senior District Bar Association members have voiced their concern over police inaction against a constable and his two accomplices involved in a dacoity case.

Zulfikar Ali and his two accomplices had reportedly looted the house of a woman in Raja Park locality a few weeks ago.

In a press statement issued here on Friday, Punjab Bar Council member Mian Muhammad Afzal, former DBA secretary-general Chaudhry Javed Aslam Kahloon and senior lawyers Raja Muntazir Mehdi, Muhammad Saleem and Chaudhry Nazir Ahmad said the constable and his accomplices had been nominated in the FIR, but so far the police did not arrest them.

They demanded that the authorities concerned should arrest the culprits immediately besides recovering the looted amount and other valuables.

ARRESTED: City police arrested a prize bond number seller in a raid here on Friday.

Police have registered a case against Muhammad Akram and also recovered a cash of Rs18,500 from his possession.

SELECTION GRADE: District Education Officer (Female) Mrs Afzal Bano on Friday awarded selection grade 10 to 89 PTC teachers across the district.
