Hasan Raza shines with bat and ball

KARACHI, Nov 20: An all-round performance by Test reject Hasan Raza paved the way for a comfortable six-wicket victory for Baqai Dolphins over Tapal Cricket Club in a Paragon Cup-2001 match at the UBL Sports Complex `B’ Tuesday.

Hasan picked up two for 17 to help Dolphins dismiss Tapal for 158 in 21.4 overs. He later contributed a flawless 63 as the winners achieved the target in 21.3 overs, losing four wickets.

Hasan’s 53-ball innings included seven fours and a six. He was later adjudged Man-of-the-Match.

At the UBL `A’, KESC trounced Total Energy by 109 runs.

KESC batted first and collected 196 for nine from their allotted 25 overs. Shahid Dawood with 38 was the top scorer.

Total Energy, in their turn, were bowled out for 87 in 17.3 overs with Tariq Haroon and Jaffar Qureshi causing the maximum damage by picking up three wickets each for 24 and 13 runs respectively.

Tariq, who dented Total Energy’s top order, was adjudged Man-of-the-Match.
