KARACHI, Nov 14: Sweet Touch, romping to victory in her maiden race, clocking one minute 4 3/4 seconds going over five furlongs two weeks ago, is fancied to lift the Youngster Cup now over six, with nearly the same field in contention at the Winter Gymkhana Meeting to be held on Thursday afternoon at the Karachi Racecourse.

The My Noble Lord - Willing Shoes sibling, will perhaps be partnered by Ghulam Shabbir II, who piloted her to victory or perhaps Lahore’s champion rider Shahid Rehman.

This event was to be held last Sunday, but the Stewards were forced to cancel the race due to fading light.

All in all, seven events have been chalked out on the last racing day before the Holy month of Ramazan sets in.

The first four events will be held over the sprinting distance of five furlongs, while the last three will contested over six.

The first race begins at 1.00 p.m.

In the opener, the bay colt Mark owned by Edward Chou, struggling to his maiden victory last Sunday after being left at the starting gate, is once again fancied in these columns to deliver the goods, closely followed home Law Of Nature, Prism Of Life and Baby Tabassum.

Khalid Malik’s chestnut colt Aziz Love should make it two winners in a row for the owner in the second race, edging out top weight Raysham and Simple Prayer near the winning post.

In a big field of 18 runners in the following race, Hamza Saheb beaten four days ago by only 3/4 of a length by Feasible, after two fluent victories, should resume his winning ways again on Sunday, passing the winning post ahead of Al Khair, Gold Money and Satellite Star.

If all goes well Mrs. Shahzadi Erum’s bay mare Welcome Shahtab, could win the fourth race of the afternoon for the mere asking, with Feasible and Pari Pakar, going all out to prove us wrong.

M.H. Ali’s bay filly Fast Enough, trained by Mohammad Rafiq Karim, is fancied in these columns to overcome the likes of Bold Commander and Ray Of Light in the sixth race.

The Club Champion, prevented from running on merit a few days ago by jockey Shehzad going over seven furlongs in the Colts & Fillies Trials, is fancied to win the concluding race from Gambling Princess, Leo and Charkh Bareen although carrying the top weight of nine stones and seven pounds on her back.

Charkh Baren, a half brother of Sweet Touch, making an appearance on this track after nearly 10 months is on song to complete a hat-trick of victories.
