Multan take command

KARACHI, Nov 12: Multan seize initiative on the opening day of the three-day Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-II final at Chenab College Ground in Jhang Monday.

According to details available, Multan have already taken first innings lead by reaching 172 for three at stumps.

Earlier, Dadu managed just 139 after Multan skipper Ali Rafi won the toss and chose to field first.

Guest players Pir Zulfiqar Ali (39) and skipper Shahid Qambrani (37) were the main scorers for Dadu.

The bowling honours were shared by off-spinner Naeem Iqbal (3 for 9), all-rounder Aamir Bashir (3 for 43) and medium-pacer Farhan Abbasi (3 for 51).

In reply, Shahid Naseem (46) and Sajid Waheed (45) gave Multan a flying start by sharing a first wicket partnership of 83. Ali Rafi stroked 47.
