FAISALABAD, Nov 12: Police have yet to find a clue to the dacoits who had taken away Rs15 million worth gold ornaments from a Bano Bazaar shop on Saturday.
Speaking at a news conference on Monday, office-bearers of Anjuman Tajiran Faisalabad and other trade bodies threatened to launch a protest movement against the police and district administration if the dacoits were not arrested and the loot was not recovered within next 48 hours.
They alleged that area police were immediately informed about the incident but they reached the spot after about half an hour. “The Kotwali police station is some meters away from the spot.”
They said that houses and shops were being looted in broad daylight and incidents of vehicle-snatching were on the rise but the police did not take any measure.
They demanded that police patrol should also be enhanced in the commercial areas of the city.
Muhammad Nawaz Vohra, Haji Bashir Ahmed, Rao Abdul Rehman, Muhammad Ali Rana and others said SSP Tasadduq Hussain had assured them that the gangsters would be arrested within next 12 hours.
