TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 7: The Pak-Afghan Defence Council has decided that the district administration would not be allowed to force the people to open their shops on Friday.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the council held at Jamia Masjid Akbari here on Wednesday to review arrangements for the Nov 9 strike.

It was decided that a public meeting will be held at Milad-i-Mustafa Chowk at Saddar Bazaar on Friday at 10am.

Local leaders of various religious parties participated in the meeting, presided over by council’s city president Sahibzada Faiz Rasool Siddiqui.

The participants in the meeting included Jamaat-i-Islami city Amir Muhammad Arshad, Jamiat Ahle Hadith district chief Mufti Muhammad Aslam, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam leader Qari Muhammad Ibrahim, Majlis Tahaffuz-i-Khatm-i-Nabuwwat general secretary Maulana Muhammad Abdullah Ludhianvi, Sufi Siraj Ahmad, Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan city president Chaudhry Muhammad Nazir, Maulana Burq Toheedi, Maulana Muhammad Bakhshi, Maulana Muhammad Ilyas, Hafiz Abdul Rahman, Qari Zahoor Hussain and Abdul Basit Nadeem.

TRAIN TIMINGS: The Railways authorities will consider the demand of the citizens of Toba Tek Singh to change the timings of Lahore-Faisalabad non-stop train.

This assurance was given by Railways Lahore Divisional Superintendent Aziz Ahmad Khan to a delegation of citizens on Wednesday. The delegation met him during his visit to the local railway station.

The members of the delegation had informed the DS that the people of Toba Tek Singh and those coming from Lahore, Gojra, Kamalia, Pir Mahal and Shorkot Cantonment could not board super express train daily owing to the wrong timings of the non-stop train.
