KARACHI, Nov 6: The Accountability Court-III, headed by Rehmat Hussain Jafri, on Tuesday convicted Saeedullah Soomro, ex-divisional engineer of phones (PTCL), and awarded him five years rigorous imprisonment on charges of “living beyond his known means”.

The court imposed a fine of Rs20 million and in default of payment he will spend two-and-half year more in prison.

The court also disqualified the convict for a period of 10 years for seeking or being elected as a member of any public body. He will not be allowed to seek any loan from any government financial institution.—PPI
