LAHORE, Nov 6: The Islami Jamiat-i-Talaba, Punjab, has announced that it will organize a ‘Jihad caravan’ and an ‘Azm-i-Jihad Rally’ on Nov 8 and 13, respectively, to protest against the government’s pro-US policies.
Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, IJT’s Punjab (south) Nazim Syed Rashid Daud said the students’ caravan would start from the Maudoodi Institute near Mansoora and the University of Engineering and Technology on Thursday. It would visit educational institutions and motivate students to take part in Jihad against America.
Mr Daud said the Azm-i-Jihad Rally would be held on the Punjab University Old Campus lawns and attended by hundreds of students coming from all over the province. The students would hold protest demonstrations, raise funds and impart Jihad training.
He said the nation was passing through a crucial time as Pakistan was being declared as a terrorist country. On the other hand, he said, the US forces were using Pakistan’s air-bases to attack Afghanistan.
Following the US announcement to fight against terrorism across the world, he said, India had claimed that the US would enter Kashmir after Afghanistan.
The IJT leader also condemned the arrest of Jamaat-i-Islami amir Qazi Husain Ahmad. They demanded that the government should immediately release him and ask the US forces to leave the country.
