KRL take vital lead over NBP

KARACHI, Oct 22: KRL obtained a crucial first innings lead of 89 over title-chasers National Bank on the second day of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-I clash at Saga Ground, Sialkot Monday.

Solid contributions from the top five batsmen enabled KRL reach 293 in reply to the bankers’ 204, according to details available here.

Skipper Ali Naqvi (47 off 104 balls) and Mohammad Ramzan (35 off 75 balls) carried their opening partnership from overnight 35 to 86.

Middle-order trio of Saeed bin Nasir (49 off 75 balls), Misbah-ul-Haq (58 off 116 balls) and Intikhab Alam (53 not out off 105 balls) ensured KRL surpassing National Bank’s modest score.

Saeed and Misbah added 75 for the third wicket while Intikhab helped Misbah put on 66 for the fourth wicket.

Test discard Mohammad Wasim was unable to bat because he was unwell.
