16 wickets tumble in Sialkot

KARACHI, Oct 15: As many as 16 wickets fell on the first day of Patron’s Trophy Grade-I match between KRL and Habib Bank at Saga Ground, Sialkot Monday.

KRL, who were put into bat by Habib Bank skipper Akram Raza, collapsed from 109 for three to 150 all out before the bankers limped to 84 for six in reply, according to details available here.

Former Test opener Ali Naqvi was the only KRL batsman to prosper with 89 off 131 deliveries in a stay of 233 minutes. With fellow Test reject, Mohammad Ramzan (23), Naqvi put on 57 for the first wicket in 87 minutes.

Another Test discard Shahid Nazir claimed five for 46, Sajid Shah three for 52 while Asadullah Butt chipped in with two wickets for three runs.

Left-arm medium-pacer Stephen John then sliced through the top order as Habib Bank crashed from 39 for no wicket to 76 for six. John finished the day with four for 28.
