Coaches for Pakistan soon
LAHORE, Oct 12: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has agreed to provide coaches to Pakistan to replace current British coach who is not likely to return from England.
The game’s continental ruling body had deputed two British coaches, David Burns and John Layton to Pakistan on three-year contracts.
Senior team coach Burns was sacked after developing differences with the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) officials earlier this year, while junior coach Layton left the country for England after the terror attacks on US.
Layton, who departed on the instruction of the British High Commission in Islamabad, is not expected to return due to present crisis in Afghanistan which is now under air attack by US.
A PFF official said Friday, the AFC secretary general, Peter Velappan, had promised to finalise the names of the coaches soon.
He said one of the coaches would be from Uzbekistan while other was not confirmed as yet.
