HBL get points in drawn tie with ABL

KARACHI, Oct 12: Habib Bank secured three points for first innings lead after their round match against Allied Bank ended in a draw at the Sheikhupura Stadium Friday, according to information made available here.

Allied Bank, who surrendered a 145-run first innings lead, finished the day at 160 after Habib Bank declared their second innings at 207 for seven to set a difficult 353-run victory target.

Habib Bank, resuming at the overnight score of 48 for three, recovered through a 114-run fourth wicket stand between Younis Khan and Irfan Fazil. Younis scored a 87-ball 75 while Irfan chipped in with 37.

Hasan Raza, batting at No 7, later contributed 37 to end slim Allied Bank victory hopes.

Batting for the second time, Allied Bank’s Naved Latif struck an undefeated 70 while Usman Tariq scored 56. The two added 105 for the unfinished second wicket after Mohammad Nawaz (21) had was dismissed at the score of 55.
