PESHAWAR, Oct 12: Denouncing the joint statement issued by the OIC foreign ministers at the conclusion of their meeting in Doha, Qatar, opposing any contemplated attack on any Arab or other Islamic country, member of provincial council of Awami National Party, Barrister Baachaa, has said that the OIC delivered what the US had expected of it.

In a statement issued here on Friday, Baachaa said that by declining to express their opposition or at least condemnation of the attacks on Afghanistan and at the same time opposing any contemplated attack on any Arab or other Islamic country, the OIC had introduced a new kind of division between the Arab and non- Arab, and the rich and poor Muslim countries.

He said that the people of Pakistan, particularly Pakhtoons, had always opposed attacks on any Muslim country without discrimination, be that American attacks on Libya, Iraq and Iran, Israel’s excesses against the Palestinians or the Indian atrocities on the Kashmiri freedom fighters.

He regretted that at a time when the US and its allies were all out to eliminate an entire Muslim nation, the OIC’s refusal to condemn the attacks was in accordance with the wishes of anti- Islam forces.
