Villagers at mercy of outlaws

By Our Correspondent

GUJRANWALA, Oct 12: Three union councils of Ferozwala village have reportedly been in the grip of outlaws for the last couple of months.

Criminals wanted in cases like murder and dacoity are giving sleepless nights to villagers. Police, on the other hand, are yet to move against the outlaws.

The matter was raised by Nazims of the three union councils here on Friday, who voiced their concern over the police failure in arresting the proclaimed offenders.

Talking to newsmen, they asked the Punjab governor and the IGP to take serious note of criminal activities of POs in their area.

Nazims Chaudhry Aslam, Chaudhry Afzal and Rana Tahir Mahmood, in a memorandum sent to high-ups, said the POs were involved in dozens of cases of dacoity, robbery, murder and other heinous crimes.
