KARACHI: JI takes out procession

KARACHI, Oct 8: Naib Amir, Jamaat-i-Islami, Pakistan, Prof Ghafoor Ahmed, has criticized the double standards of the developed world who termed the attack on the US as an attack on the civilized world, Christianity and democracy, while Afghanistan is being attacked without any proof and the same has been described as a war against terrorism.

Addressing a rally organized by Jamaat-i-Islami, Karachi, on Monday, Prof Ghafoor Ahmed strongly deplored the use of Pakistani airspace by US and British forces to launch attacks on Afghanistan.

He said that though it is clear that the US does not have any solid proof against Osama and the Taliban, however, they have continued with their plans to pound Afghanistan. Even if there is proof against Osama, there is no reason to hit the residence of Taliban leader Mulla Omar, he added.

Naib Amir, JI, said that though Afghanistan has never been in a position to pose a threat to the US, it is only being targeted to ensure the presence of US in the region and to inflict a demoralizing blow to Muslims.

He expressed the fear that the safety and security of Pakistan is not in safe hands and alleged that the US might plan to subjugate Pakistan after monitoring the reactions of Muslims in the aftermath of its attack on Afghanistan.

Ample proof is that the Indian cabinet members and their puppet, Farooq Abdullah, have given clear statements regarding an Indian attack on Pakistan, he added.

Prof Ghafoor Ahmed alleged that the CIA was behind the sectarian and other killings in Pakistan, aimed to engineer tension among Muslims and weaken Pakistani society.—PPI
