Sibtain helps Mohib XI lift trophy

By Our Sports Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 5: Promising centre-forward Sibtain Raza gave an outstanding performance slamming three goals as Qazi Mohib Eleven defeated Munawwar-uz-Zaman Eleven 4-2 to lift the ninth YMCA Khursheed Aslam Memorial Camp Trainees hockey league trophy here at the YMCA Ground Friday.

A student of the Habib Public School, Sibtain was the pick of the attacking line as he invariably broke through the defense of the fighting Munawwar-uz-Zaman Eleven.

Sibtain, who was the top scorer with six goals in the four-team league, netted two goals — the first and the third, as Qazi Mohib led 3-2 when the teams changed the ends. Inside-left Salman was the other scorer.

Munawwar-uz-Zaman Eleven fought with determination but missed two good chances before reducing the margin through Osama Shah and centre-forward Asim Abbasi.

However, soon after resumption Munawwar-uz-Zaman launched their onslaught without any luck but in a counter attack Sibtain found the net third time with Qazi Mohib Eleven winning by 4-2.
