“The situation has so worsened that the people are being killed at day time while offering prayers in mosques,” it said, adding that the inefficiency of the government to punish the culprits was the root cause of increase in such heinous incidents.

# PTI#: the Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf has warned that if the government did not carry out a crack-down and take effective measures to eradicate terrorism immediately, then a terrorist wave would engulf the country alongside the impending US-led attack on Afghanistan.
“This will give the international forces an opportunity to interfere in our internal affairs and jeopardize the integrity of the country,” PTI secretary general Mairaj Mohammed Khan said.
In a statement here on Friday he maintained that the government, which supported the US-led campaign against international terrorism, had failed to curb terrorism at home where, he said, targeted killings on sectarian basis had continued unchecked.

Referring to a recent statement of the DIG Karachi that terrorists from Punjab had reached Karachi, the committee wondered why despite receiving the information the police and the administration had demonstrated a criminal negligence in protecting the life and property of the citizen.
