KARACHI: LNH body allowed restraining order

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 5: The Sindh High Court, on Friday, allowed the Liaquat National Hospital Association’s application seeking restraining order against the defendants from acting on the interim report of July 7, 2000, and from interfering in its affairs pending the disposal of the suit.

Justice Shabbir Ahmed of the SHC passed the restraining order in suit No 892 of 2000. Plaintiff LNH Association was represented by Zahid F. Ibrahim, advocate.

Besides the provincial government, the provincial monitoring and coordination secretariat, a committee constituted under notification No SOVII/1-33/2000, Dr Iqtidar Hamid Bhatti, Dr Syed Nadeem Hassan Rizvi and Dr Sadiah Ahsan have been made respondents.

The court held that the issuance of interim report on maladministration of the LNH and suggesting dissolution of its governing body is violative of law.

Advocate General Sindh represented the first three defendants, whereas Naeemur Rahman, advocate, represented defendants 4 to 6.
